About the Company:
We are supporting the founder and director of a newly registered Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) in Lithuania. The business is in the early stages of development and focuses on delivering secure, compliant services in the fast-evolving virtual asset space. As part of its foundational compliance framework, the company is seeking to appoint a part-time Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) to fulfil regulatory obligations under Lithuanian AML laws.
ole Overview:
As the MLRO, you will play a pivotal role in helping the business establish and maintain AML/CTF controls in line with Lithuanian regulatory requirements for VASPs. With transaction volumes currently low (fewer than 50 transactions per month), this is an ideal role for an experienced compliance professional seeking a flexible, remote engagement with a forward-thinking startup in the crypto space.
Key Responsibilities:

Act as the registered MLRO with Lithuanian regulatory authorities

Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s AML/CFT policies and procedures

Monitor transactions and flag/report any suspicious activity in accordance with Lithuanian law

Conduct periodic AML risk assessments and recommend improvements

Provide ongoing AML training and support to the founder and any future staff

Liaise with regulatory bodies when required and ensure timely regulatory filings

Stay up to date with Lithuanian and EU regulatory developments related to crypto and VASPs
Ideal Candidate:

Proven experience in AML/Compliance, ideally within fintech, crypto, or VASP environments

Familiarity with Lithuanian AML regulations (or broader EU frameworks with a willingness to learn local specifics)

Approved or approvable by Lithuanian authorities as a registered MLRO

Strong analytical, investigative, and reporting skills

Comfortable working remotely and independently with minimal oversight

Fluent in English (Lithuanian language skills are a plus but not required)
