As we expand our operations and digital capabilities, we are seeking an experienced Fractional CIO to provide strategic leadership in technology, data, and IT governance — ensuring our digital infrastructure scales with our mission and growth trajectory.
Role Overview
The Fractional CIO will serve as a part-time executive leader responsible for shaping and executing the company’s technology and information strategy. This role is ideal for an experienced IT and digital transformation leader who wants to make a tangible impact in a purpose-driven, high-growth renewable energy environment without the constraints of a full-time corporate role.
Key Responsibilities

Technology Strategy & Leadership:
Develop and implement a forward-looking IT and digital roadmap aligned with business growth, sustainability goals, and regulatory requirements. -
Digital Transformation:
Lead the modernization of business systems, data architecture, and digital platforms to enhance operational efficiency, scalability, and cybersecurity. -
Data Governance & Analytics:
Establish best practices for data integrity, analytics, and reporting to support data-driven decision-making across energy operations, finance, and ESG initiatives. -
Cybersecurity & Compliance:
Oversee information security frameworks, risk management, and compliance with GDPR, ISO 27001, and energy-sector regulations. -
Vendor & Infrastructure Management:
Evaluate, select, and manage IT vendors, SaaS partners, and cloud infrastructure to ensure robust, cost-effective solutions. -
Team Leadership & Mentorship:
Guide and mentor internal IT staff and cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. -
Executive Collaboration:
Work closely with the CEO, CFO, and COO to align technology investments with strategic and financial objectives.
Qualifications & Experience

Proven experience as a CIO, IT Director, or senior technology leader (preferably in energy, utilities, or infrastructure sectors).

Strong understanding of renewable energy technologies, smart grids, IoT, and data analytics.

Demonstrated success delivering digital transformation and scaling IT operations in a growing organisation.

Expertise in cybersecurity, data management, and enterprise system integration.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into strategic business value.

Experience in a fractional, consulting, or advisory CIO capacity is highly desirable.
Commitment & Compensation

Engagement: Fractional / Part-time (approx. 2 days per week, flexible)

Contract: 6–12 months initial term, with potential for extension
