About the job
Location: South East England (dual-site, Essex & Hertfordshire) | Reports to: Group CEO | Full-time, permanent | £120,000–£150,000
FD Capital is retained by a well-established, acquisitive multi-brand services group — a household name in its sector, trading across the UK and internationally — to appoint a Finance & IT Director.
Please note two essential requirements before applying:
- Big Four (or recognised top-tier firm) practice training is essential. Candidates must have qualified with PwC, Deloitte, KPMG, EY or a comparable top-tier firm. Applications without this background cannot be progressed.
- A settled career record is essential. Our client is appointing a long-term member of its senior leadership team and is seeking demonstrable tenure — typically five years or more in recent permanent roles. This is not a role suited to career interim or portfolio candidates.
The Role
This is a board-facing opportunity to take full ownership of the Group's consolidated finances while also leading its IT function. Reporting directly to the Group CEO, you'll sit at the heart of the business with genuine scope to shape both functions as the Group grows organically and by acquisition.

- Build, lead and develop the Group finance team across multiple entities
IT Leadership
- Overall responsibility for Group IT strategy, infrastructure and systems (ERP, CRM and operational platforms)
- Manage IT budgets, vendors and third-party providers
- Oversee data security, business continuity and disaster recovery
- Lead technology transformation and system consolidation following acquisitions

- Strong working knowledge of UK statutory and tax reporting
- Proven leadership experience building and managing a finance function
