They operate across multiple sectors (e.g., manufacturing, tech, services) and are at a pivotal stage—focusing on financial optimisation, process improvement, and funding expansion.
Role Overview
Executive Capital is working exclusively with this business to appoint a seasoned Finance Director on a part-time basis. This is a senior leadership position with strategic weight—your role will be to enhance financial rigor while operating hands-on within a dynamically evolving executive team.
Key Responsibilities

Strategic Finance Partnership: Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and board—supporting M&A, equity/debt raises, and investor reporting.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the annual planning and periodic re-forecast cycle. Provide insightful variance analysis and forward-looking advice.

Financial Systems Leadership: Implement or refine financial systems and processes (ERP, reporting tools), enhancing efficiency and data granularity.

Cash & Working Capital Management: Take ownership of cash flow modelling, treasury strategy, and capital optimisation.

Management Accounts & Reporting: Deliver timely monthly management packs, board-ready financials, KPI dashboards, and business commentary.

Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with lenders, tax advisers, auditors, and external partners for refinancing, compliance, grants, or due diligence.

Capacity Building: Provide leadership to in‑house finance staff, outsourcing partners, or advisory accountants.
Ideal Candidate Profile

ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualified accountant with FD/CFO experience.

8+ years in senior finance roles within growing SMEs, ideally with PE/VC or fundraising exposure.

Expertise in financial modelling, strategic planning, and systems implementation.

Strong commercial instincts combined with precise analytical capabilities.

Excellent board-level communication skills, able to translate complex finance to actionable business insight.
